Oops, I Did It Again

I've been neglecting this sucker like craaaaaaazy. My bad.

Sooo what's happened since we last spoke...hmm...went to Palm Springs and got to meet SHAG, who is my absolute favorite artist! I'm not really an art kind of person but I just adore all of his work. I also got Disneyland passes again, so that's fun. Went to see Kathy Griffin, and I saw Jim Gaffigan too. Going to see Alice Cooper & Rob Zombie on Thursday and to the Halloween Haunt on Friday, so that's awesome. It'll be my 11th year in a row that I've gone to the haunt! In November I'm going to see Celtic Thunder with my grandma and I might see Danzig with my brother. Helped my boyfriend move too, which was interesting considering I've never helped anyone move before. But...

I'm most likely moving soon! My parents are in the process of buying a second house that I will be living in. I'm going to pay utilities and possibly contribute to the down payment and mortgage. We have an offer in on a 3 bed, 1 bath house that is pretty nice and I think I could enjoy living in. I'm excited! In the meantime, I'm trying to find a decent job so that I can pay for stuff. Scary.

Anyways, that's all I can think of for now. Ciao!

EDIT: OH DUH! I thought I had written since this happened, but it turns out I haven't. I got a puppy!!!!! He's a male Papillon and he was born on April 5th, 2010. His name is Dobby =] He's the only dog I've ever gotten that wasn't from a shelter or a rescue, he was from a pet store in the mall haha. He's adorable and fun and VERY snuggly. I love him! Anyways...yeah...now I think that's it, haha. Buh-bye!

Young At Heart

So I've been reading through all the newspaper clippings about my grandpa that I found at my grandma's house. He was a chef, and there are tons and tons of clippings talking about how amazing his food was and all of the cool events and restaurants he worked at. He planned and was the head chef for President Nixon's resignation dinner. He catered for movies. For five years in a row Bing Crosby specially picked him to be the executive chef for his golf tournament. He even got mentioned in a gossip column. For ten years he was the chef at one of the most popular and exclusive restaurants - the Scandia (which sadly no longer exists). He was President of the Orange County Chef's Association and won Chef of the Year one year. He also designed their logo (he was an extremely talented artist as well, and with no formal training) which is still used to this day. He has numerous trophies, medals, and awards for his work. He was chosen to help design the kitchen for a restaurant that was in the process of being built. He made really badass animals and sculptures out of fruit and vegetables. I am completely convinced that if his career had been in modern times he would have his own cooking show and would be a "celebrity chef", because he was definitely a celebrity chef in his time.

I may sound like I'm bragging, but I'm very proud of all of my grandpa's accomplishments and think that everything he got to do was extremely cool. I miss him.

And I was second to like Michael Jackson. AND SOME BASTARD BEAT ME TO TO GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE WE GO! This is an addictive self-imposed competition and I think I should stop now.
