We Wish You A Merry Christmas

Hey! Hope all you non-existent readers had a nice Christmas, if that's what you choose to celebrate. Mine was excellent, got a lot of nice stuff. I wasn't really in a Christmassy mood this year so I didn't have much of a list (usually I have a long color-coded list ready by Thanksgiving weekend, haha), so most of the stuff I got was a complete surprise. My mom knows pretty damn well what I like so it's all good stuff that I really like. I think I did an itemized list of what I got last year but I'm kind of tired and lazy and all the stuff I got is still in the living room.

I like how Christmas works with my family. A little something every day in December from my advent calendar, Christmas Eve morning open stockings, Christmas Eve night dinner at grandma's and opening presents from my grandma and my brother, midnight mass, then I have a freaking horrible time trying to sleep from excitement, wait until at least 7 AM (this year I woke up at 8), wake up my parents, pass out the presents, open everything, look at stuff for a while, then pass out for a few more hours (this year was about 11 AM until 3 PM), and then hang out in the living room the rest of the day enjoying my new stuff. I get dressed up for Christmas Eve and ALWAYS spend Christmas day in my pajamas. Always.

Didn't get to watch a lot of Christmas movies this year =/ Last year I pulled every Christmas movie we had out the week before Thanksgiving and scheduled what we would watch what night so that we got around to seeing everything...there were so many we had to watch 2 a night every night from Thanksgiving up until Christmas. This year I watched part of Deck The Halls, most of Christmas Vacation, and bits of other random stuff, which is sad. AND I ONLY WATCHED LIKE...1/4 OF TO GRANDMOTHER'S HOUSE WE GO! That's a tragedy. I love that movie dearly and have it practically memorized line by line. I should finish it before New Year's. Just wasn't a very Christmassy year this year, but oh well. Hopefully we'll be more organized and spirited next year.

Goodnight!

Life On Mars

Wow. It's been forever since I've updated this! What's happened since we last spoke? Well for one thing, I had the most amazing experience at a mini-mart that you could ever possibly have. My mom and I like to drive around randomly in the middle of the night sometimes, and we decided to stop at this mini-mart for something to drink at like 12:30 in the morning. First thing we notice as we get out of the car is classical music playing super loud through the entire gas station. The second we stepped inside we were hit by a very strong incense smell. Now, both of these things are a little strange but not that weird. It was the clerk who really made the experience. He was this skinny black guy with glasses and an ascot sitting behind the counter reading some giant textbook...not sure why, but he reminded me of the butler on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. When we went to pay, he greeted us with an over-exaggerated, but somehow not rude, "Good morning, ladies." Who really says good morning at half-past midnight? Plus, he spoke in an obviously fake British accent, which was weird. We were impressed by the fact he didn't even use the cash register and did the math to give us change in his head, you don't expect people who work at mini-marts and fast food joints to be able to do that. Now, this was quite a while ago so I don't remember all the details, but I just remember it being hilarious and I had to turn around, bite my lip, and hold my breath until I could leave the store to keep from laughing. I really want to go back and stop in there again sometime.

You want to know what else happened in the month of October? I got the greatest Christmas present ever, that's what! The exceptionally early gift was from my dad. He bought me tickets and a VIP pass to see Alice Cooper at the Nokia in LA. I was super psyched about it in the first place because the first time I met Alice I was unable to speak, haha, and I wanted to be able to say a little something to him. Plus I got fifth-row center seats! That was awesome enough, but then came the most mind-blowingly amazing thing ever. Everyone who bought VIP passes was entered in a contest, which I knew about but brushed off figuring I would never win. I wound up completely forgetting about it until the day before the concert, when I got an e-mail informing me I had won. What exactly did I win? I GOT TO BE ON STAGE WITH ALICE COOPER. DURING THE CONCERT. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! I remember getting the e-mail. I was just waking up, and I always check my BlackBerry for e-mails and texts and anything else I might have missed while I was sleeping. Browsing through the e-mail subjects, nothing caught my eye until I saw "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO JOIN ALICE COOPER ON STA..." I couldn't believe it! At first I thought it was just a prank, but it wasn't. I called my mom right away to tell her the news. It was the most exciting thing ever! I don't think I fully believed it until it happened though, and even then I was in awe of what was happening to me. I got to go up on stage for the finale, while Alice Cooper was singing School's Out and surprise freakin' guest Slash was shredding, and I got to help throw giant balloons in the crowd. I loved seeing the reactions of the people I had been sitting around when they noticed I was up there instead of next to them, hahaha. Afterwards I got to walk past Slash backstage and hang out with Alice and the 9 other VIP pass holders in Alice's dressing room, which was awesome. When I had met him before it was in a crowded room and it was basically a free-for-all, so this was a lot more relaxed and fun. I even got Shep Gordon's autograph and I got to see Sheryl! For those not as Alice-obsessed as I am, Shep is his long-time manager and Sheryl is his wife. That was probably the greatest night of my life. I caught one of Ace Frehley's guitar picks too, but that doesn't even measure up to how awesome the rest of my night was. So if you were at the Nokia on October 28th, 2009 to see Alice Cooper, you saw me up there on stage at the end!

I think that anything else that happened since I've written last would sound pretty damn boring in comparison to that. I did finally finish watching Life On Mars though. Didn't see that ending coming! Oh, and I have a pretty awesome boyfriend. Goodnight =]

Crazy

My schedule as of the past couple of days:

Tuesday night/Wednesday morning went to sleep at around 5 AM.
Woke up Wednesday afternoon at 3 PM.
Felt like crap, skipped class, stayed home to eat and play Grand Theft Auto IV.
Became painfully sleepy for no reason.
Fell asleep on the couch at 7 PM.
Woke up at 10 PM.
Ate more, played Lego Indiana Jones, watched TV, tried to go to sleep.
Gave up on trying to sleep.
Went to Target and Fresh & Easy at 9 AM this morning.
Came home, played more GTA, had lunch, watched TV, fell asleep at 12:30 PM.
Woke up to the phone ringing at 3:50 PM.
Have been up since.

Isn't that fun? Going to sleep within the hour so I can hopefully get up at a normal time tomorrow.

The Happy Wanderer

So I haven't written lately...my bad. Uhhh...so last we spoke I had gone to Alfest. Since then I've started school, dropped my interior design class, and kept myself fairly busy. I bought an iMac and Final Cut Studio 3 because I'm getting quite into this video editing business. It's fun! Now I'm going to ask for an HD camera for Christmas.

Other than that, I can't really think of much. I just finished watching Envy, weird movie. Oh...and I met this guy at Alfest. His name is Joe. He's pretty awesome!

Bye for now =]

Tequila

The title of this entry is also a nickname of mine. I'm Tequila, my friend Maggie is Margarita, and Christina is Daquiri. Don't really remember how that all came about but it is what it is. I don't really know why I'm explaining it either.

Went to AlFest (a "Weird Al" convention) on Saturday and had A BLAST! I was a little anxious about the fact I wouldn't know anyone there, except for my mom who I dragged along, but I had soooo much fun. Lots of great musical comedy acts, celebrity panel from UHF, and just lots of awesomeness.

And I don't really have anything important to say, I'm just all antsy and I needed something to do. Bye for now.

Ballroom Blitz

All these years, my dad has told me about this guy he used to work with back in the day who said that he was in that band Sweet. All these years, my dad has also stated how much he thinks it was complete bullshit.

Today I saw Sweet play at Universal CityWalk. Guess who plays guitar for them.

I'm Your Boogie Man

I'm far too addicted to the White Zombie version of I'm Your Boogie Man lately. I registered for my classes today, how exciting! Just going part-time this semester and starting with the full-time crap in the spring. My 9 units consist of:

MONDAY: 5-5:50 PM Liftime Fitness; 7-9:50 PM History of Rock Music
WEDNESDAY: 3-4:50 PM Careers in Interior Design; 5-5:50 PM Lifetime Fitness
FRIDAY: 5-9:50 PM Digital Video (with lab)

I'm actually kind of excited. I'm just hoping the nearly 5 hour block of video won't stress me out. If it does, I'll just drop, no biggie! I really wanted to take steel drums but they canceled it =[ Hopefully it'll be back next semester, because I freaking love the steel drums.
But yeah, classes start the 17th, whoop!

In other news, going to see The Sweet tomorrow night and going to AlFest '09 Saturday. Hopefully going to the fair next week but dunno about that. Fun!

Be Chrool To Your Scuel

Picking classes for when I register in a few days. Don't really know what to take, kind of considering taking a steel drum class because I love steel drums and it sounds like fun! History of rock music sounds cool too. Might take some fashion merchandising classes or something, I really have no idea. There is also a disproportionate number of songs listened to to the length of this blog entry, but for some reason in the middle of writing I got distracted and did a bit of reading on findadeath.com for a while. I love that website! I totally want to take the tour. Now I'm off to bed, goodnight!

Summer Breeze

Nothing too exciting to report at the moment. Summer's moving right along, I need to go take placement tests for my math and English classes. I can't believe the semester starts in less than a month =[ I think my proudest accomplishment so far this summer is one that I finished today (well, technically yesterday). I watched the entire fourth season of Full House in three days! Yay! Before that I finally finished off the second season of The Golden Girls and now I'm working on the first season of The Whitest Kids U' Know, which shouldn't take too long because there are only 10 episodes. After that I may start up the first season of Wonder Showzen, I'm not too sure. All I know is that I really need to get rid of this giant stack of DVDs that's staring at me.

I've also been trying to organize my clothes. I've pulled nearly all of my shirts out of their various drawers, cabinets, and closets and gone through them to decide what goes where. Eventually I'm going to move onto pants and skirts, and then finally dresses and whatever's hiding in the closet in my room since I kind of avoid that closet. I've also been going through some of my shoes and hiding away those that I don't wear that often. I'm planning on counting up all my different categories (t-shirts by color, other shirts, shoes, purses, pants by type, etc.) and I'll post a full rundown once I'm done. For now I'm going to go take a shower and either play some Sims 3 or take a whack at Whitest Kids!

Dead Babies

The title of this post really has nothing to do with anything aside from the fact that that's the song I'm listening to right now. Such a cheery little ditty! But I love me some Alice Cooper, that's for sure.

One of my mice, Monkey, is crawling all over the sides of her cage right now. It's amusing me. Anyways, nothing too exciting to report aside from after being sick for 5 days, then healthy for one, then having horrible crippling back pain for two, then being healthy for half a day, and then having every joint in my body hurt for two and half days, I finally seem to be on the mend. Mainly my left arm (which I cannot lift very high at all) and my right wrist are still in pain. My sinuses are driving me crazy though.

Today I saw Taking Of Pelham 123. I quite liked it! OH OH OH AND YESTERDAY I HAD THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE EVER! That's right, I came across a DRIVE-THROUGH BASKIN ROBBINS. I nearly died. It was awesome. But anyways, that's about all my exciting news for now, but I'll be back soon with more boring updates!

In The Summertime

So this has been a terribly exciting summer so far. This is my second full week of being a graduate and I haven't done much. I've been really sick since Saturday and it's driving me nuts because it just won't go away =[ All I do is sleep, watch TV, eat small amounts, and sit in my room in the dark on the computer. Even the light makes me hurt. Plus it's hot outside and we have to have the air conditioner inspected before we can use it so blaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

Plans to go to Azkatraz have not developed. No one's mother will let them go without adult supervision, which is ridiculous because they're all 18.

I'M LOSING MY MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIND!

School's Out

So that's it...I'm officially a high school graduate! I have the snazzy diploma to prove it and everything. My graduation was last Thursday and all in all it went pretty well. Getting ready, on the other hand, was not so smooth haha. For some reason halfway through doing my makeup I started to panic and almost passed out. It was really awesome! But I pulled through and made it to the ceremony. Afterwards I went out to dinner with two of my best friends, Maggie and Christina. After thaaaat, we ran back to my house, changed, and headed over to the school to go to Grad Nite! Now, for all of you underprivileged [non-existent readers] who don't live in the Southern California area or didn't attend a school that participated, Grad Nite is an event held at Disneyland where the park is open only to graduates and their friends from midnight to six AM. Tons of kids from all different schools go and it's pretty crazy but awesome at the same time.

So we got to the school, I ran to 7-11 for a Red Bull and chugged it which resulted in a crazy energy burst, and then we boarded the buses. The one crappy thing about Grad Nite is they're super strict...no clothing identifying your school, no gum, no liquids, no purses bigger than a certain size, on and on the list went. They search your bag and pat you down before they let you in and apparently they don't do a good enough job because I still smelled pot around the park. We went on a few rides, had some food, did a little dancing (they set up dance clubs around the park), checked out the hourly fireworks show, and had a pretty good time. Pirates of the Caribbean did break down for 20 minutes while we were on it but it was all good. One of my favorite things about the night though was getting to see the sun come up while I was on Big Thunder Mountain. Not everyone gets to see the sun come up at Disneyland, let alone while they're on a roller coaster, so it was pretty amazing.

I made it into bed a little after 8 AM and slept for a good 7 hours and was fairly delirious for the rest of the day. Saturday I went to Universal Studios with some friends and had a really fun time despite the random rain in the morning. Sunday I had my first rehearsal for the Women Who Rock show at S.O.R. and that went about as well as a first rehearsal can go, haha. Today is pretty much my first day to myself in over two weeks and I've had a fairly nice time. I wanted to get a bunch of cleaning done, which I did clean a little but I also spent a good chunk of time watching TV and eating. I do love staying in my pajamas all day though =D Anyways, I'm either going to go clean some more or find something else to watch, so ciao for now!

Hot Stuff

Two men I have recently discovered (or rediscovered) and I think are completely gorgeous?

Matt Lanter

and

Oliver Reed

I discovered Matt Lanter through my extreme love of the show 90210, which he is [I believe] becoming a regular on. After seeing him on the show, I also realized that he was in WarGames: The Dead Code which I had on DVD but hadn't seen yet. I watched it today and even though the movie itself isn't the greatest, he's still gorgeous as usual.

Oliver Reed on the other hand...I fell in love with him when I was 5 or 6 the first time I saw Tommy. I remember that my brother accidentally left the VHS here and I watched it over and over again just to see this beautiful man. Eventually, however, my brother took the tape back and I forgot about Ollie. A few weeks ago, however, I realized I had the Tommy DVD but I hadn't watched the movie for a good 12 years, so I popped it in. I immediately remembered my prior fascination with Mr. Reed and it came back even stronger than before. After finishing the movie I looked up his info. online and was very saddened to see that he died 12 years ago...actually I watched the movie about 2 days after the 10th anniversary of his death.

I think I'm even more infatuated with Reed than Lanter, but I think Lanter's adorable and I figured it would be good to have at least one person who's still alive on this list. These also aren't the only celebrities I think are gorgeous, just two recent additions.

My friends and family think I have odd taste in men, but who cares? More for me =]

Love ya, Ollie!

Summer Nights

So prom was last Saturday, yayyyy! I wasn't quite sure if I was excited or not beforehand because I didn't have a date or anything, but it turned out to be amazing. I went in a Hummer limo with like 20 people, and we stopped at the beach beforehand to take pictures, but we didn't stay very long because it was freaking cold. Then we got to the venue, took our pictures, and had a little food (mm...cream puffs). They had blackjack tables, roulette, and craps, so Christina (my "date") and I spent a looot of time at the blackjack table. We had a ton of chips and we felt like dancing so we blew them all to go to the dance floor. It was only after that did someone tell us that there was a raffle and how many tickets you got depended on how many chips you had. Needless to say, we were pretty pissed. We did some dancing and then went back to gaming. I won back a fair amount of chips and turned them in for tickets. Everyone also got a paper voucher for 100 chips worth of tickets. I turned in mine, one I found on the floor, and 4 from friends who didn't want theirs. I went back to dancing and then someone asked me if I knew they were doing the raffle inside (as there was an indoor and outdoor dance floor and the outdoor guy was playing way better music so we stayed out there). I made it just as they were raffling off the grand prize. Called one number...no one came. Called another number...no one came. Finally, the third number they called was mine, and I won a brand new black 8 GB iPod Nano and a $35 gift certificate to Target, so that was pretty awesome. After that a bunch of people got together to do karaoke, and we did a 6 person version of Summer Nights from Grease. Eventually midnight rolled around and we had to leave. We rode back in the limo and then Christina and I drove over to Denny's (which we do after every dance) and met up with a bunch of people for food and fun. It was an awesome night and I'm sad it ended so quickly.

In other news, my Macbook took a dump. I had to send it out for service and I won't have it back until next week. Blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh =[ I did get the Sims 3 though, so that's pretty sweet.

Fun, Fun, Fun

Sunday, May 24th, 2009.  I got up at 8 AM after about 5 hours of sleep.  Got ready, left the house at 9, got down the street and then remembered I left my phone at home.  Went back, got it, drove into Hollywood to see a taping of a new show called Most Popular, hosted by Graham Norton.  Got out of the taping at about 3.  Headed over to my rehearsal, which started at 4:15, but got there super early.  Ran through some songs, learned Creep on bass.  After rehearsal, headed over to hang out with my friend Sam for a bit.  Left the cafe at about 9:30 PM.  Stopped at the gas station, put some gas in my car, and waited forever to use the bathroom.  Got on the freeway, traffic was moving very slow so called up my friend Maggie to chat.  Didn't even make it to the next exit before my car died.  Tried to restart it.  Would not move.  FREAKED THE FUCK OUT.  Tried to find my hazard lights and ended up turning on my rear windshield wiper in the process, which I couldn't get to shut off again.  Turned on the hazard lights, called my mom.  Called AAA.  Was on the phone with AAA lady when a cop pulled up behind me and came up to ask what the problem was.  Figured out what the deal with AAA was.  Cop used his car to push mine over to the side.  Waited a good 20 or 25 minutes for the tow truck to show up.  Cop was nice and waited in his car behind me.  A passerby took a picture of me while they were driving by.  Tow truck got there, hooked up my car, then pulled off the freeway and had to turn my car around and hook it up the other way so the transmission wouldn't get ruined.  (My car is a 1992 Nissan Pathfinder, by the way.)  Got towed about 20 miles to a shop near my house.  Finally made it home at about midnight, got to bed at 2 AM.

That was a long day.

Monday, May 25th, 2009.  Memorial Day, and my last official day off in my compulsory education career.  Was woken up at 10 AM.  Went to the world's largest auto center, Cerritos Auto Square.  Stopped at Ford briefly, spent a very long time at Honda.  Got a free hot dog & water bottle.  Went over to Nissan.  Spent an even longer time at Nissan with the guy from Honda calling and calling.  Finally decided to go with Nissan.  After all the paperwork and having the car detailed, finally got to go home at about 8 PM.

To make a long story short, I GOT A NEW CAR!  Not just because my other one broke down, we had already started looking for a new one last Wednesday as a graduation gift for me.  So now I have a 2009 Nissan Versa SL and I love it to death!  It's amazing.  As soon as I get my Pathfinder back from the shop I have to try to sell it, unless of course I can find a job and pay for the insurance on it.

I'm trying to decide on a name for the Versa.  The Pathfinder is called the Jonesmobile because it feels like you're riding the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland.  I'm considering naming the Versa Oliver, because of my current Oliver Reed obsession, but we'll see!  Ahhh, I still can't believe that beautiful brand new car in the driveway is mine.  This is so freaking exciting!

Yesterday

I've been watching a lot of old home movies the past couple of days.  I really enjoy looking back, but it's depressing at the same time.  I HATE change so this whole growing up thing isn't really gelling with me but whatever, I guess I just have to learn to deal.  I do have to say that I think I was a pretty damn adorable kid, hahaha.

In other news...I like the schedules at school right now.  Last week and this week is the state testing, which seniors don't participate in, so things are kind of altered for us.  Like today, most seniors don't have to be at school until 11 AM, but because I have no 1st period I don't have to be in until 1 PM.  So that's pretty awesome.  Then the rest of the week is nice too: Tuesday I go in at noon, Wednesday at 11 AM, and Thursday and Friday at 10:15 AM.  Other than that...I finally got my new cellphone!  I'm now a proud CrackBerry addict.  The Storm is amazing.  I know a lot of people don't like it but whatever, that's their problem.  I think it's fantastic.

Oh, and today, out of the blue, my parents introduced the possibility of me getting a new car as a graduation gift.  I never, ever, EVER expected them to buy me a car in my entire life unless they like...won the lottery or something.  But apparently it's now a viable possibility.  It can't be anything insanely expensive, but right now I'm kind of looking at a Toyota Yaris with some nice features, and quite a few other similar cars like the Honda Fit and the Nissan Versa.  Hopefully I'll get to do some test driving this week.  Now I'm off to try and get some sleep.  Yay for not having to get up until noon...on a school day, none-the-less!

Thursday, May 14, 2009

I really hate everything about my life right now.  Dammit.

Putting weight back on, everyone has a prom date but me, everyone I know is leaving the state for college, I have no plans for my future, and my mother is LYKE TOTALLY BFFS with my ex who I hate profusely and wish would fall off the face of the Earth.

I really want to crawl into the '90s and never come back.  Did I mention that my entire senior year has been a boring waste of my existence because all of my "friends" have better things to do than hang out with me, and that the only thing I was looking forward to doing was going back to film camp this summer after my mom offered to send me as a graduation gift only to have her tell me that she miscalculated and actually can't afford it so instead I got a nice leather purse that I was thrilled to death to get until some moronic kid got mayo all over it and stained it the second time I ever used it?  Yeah.  Fuck my life.

Carnival

It's 1:22 AM and I'm bored.  I'm tired but I don't quite feel like sleeping, so I figured I'd write in here for a bit.  I've been fairly depressed and out of it lately and it's really wearing on me...I'm just fed up with life for the moment.  In more exciting news, tomorrow (well, technically today) is club carnival!  Club carnival is an annual event at my school where all the different clubs set up booths and sell tasty food.  Plus we get an extended lunch period!  Yay!  And I love Fridays too because I don't have to get up until 9:30 so that's fun.

Other than that...working on songs for the Pink Floyd and Best of the '90s shows I'm going to be in.  My mice are doing quite nicely, and although Nibbles is still sneezing I've checked with the vet and it should go away on its own.  Hmm...nothing else to report I guess.  I'm still re-reading the Harry Potter books, I started Half-Blood Prince a day or two ago.  It's neat to read them all again now that I know what happens because I pick up on other little clues.  Speaking of Harry Potter, I ordered a Dumbledore's Army hoodie and the U.P.S. man should be bringing it tomorrow, so that's something to look forward to I suppose.

I really wish high school was over so I could just stay up all night watching T.V. and sleep all day, because that's pretty much all I feel like doing with my life right now.  Heaven knows I have plenty of D.V.D.s I need to watch.

Relax

I just spent a lovely, relaxing day at the spa!  I went with my mom, and we had a very nice time.  First we had massages and shea butter body wraps, then manicures and pedicures (my polish is so pretty, hot pink and VERY sparkly!).  After that we had a lunch break (shrimp calzone...yum...), and then we had facials.  With the rest of our afternoon, we bounced between the mud bath, the mineral baths, The Grotto (where you go underground, are covered in an aloe/kelp/whatever body mask, and then sit in a sauna-type cave before rinsing off), and the steam room.  I feel all clean and pampered and pretty now :D

Nothing else too exciting to report.  Got a couple new hair products, there's a buy one at a discount get one free sale on some stuff at Walgreen's.  Got some new hair clips too, and got a new nail polish (OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark, which is a gorgeous deep purple color) and some type of skin care thing that the lady who gave me my facial recommended to me.  Oh!  I also just ordered a Dumbledore's Army hoodie from the Warner Bros. online store...I love Harry Potter a little too much, if you ask me.

Mickey Mouse Club March

So today I became the proud owner of two female mice.  I've always thought mice were adorable and whenever I go to the pet store I get stuck watching them run around and play for at least 10 minutes.  They are also an animal I've yet to own, and I seem to have some subconscious plan to own every species possible throughout my lifetime.  I mean, I've already had fish, turtles, rabbits, dogs, cats, a horse, hermit crabs, a snake...it just seemed like a logical step.  I've also been kind of depressed lately and I thought that something cute and fuzzy that I've wanted for pretty much my entire life and that I can dote on and give copious amounts of attention to might help my mood a bit.

So I got two females due to the fact that pairing males typically leads to fighting, and pairing a male and a female typically leads to more mice than you can shake a stick at, as their gestation period is just 3 to 4 weeks, and then they're ready to pop out some more.  I haven't taken any pictures yet because I want to get them a little more comfortable in their new surroundings before I attack them with a flashing camera, but they're quite adorable.  I've only named one of the two so far, because I thought I'd name them according to their personalities.  Monkey is a very nice tan color, and she is so named due to the fact that while I was assembling the big cage, she was hanging upside down from the wires of the small cage she was in.  The nameless one is black and white and seems to have ADHD.  Whereas Monkey is slightly timid but quite friendly, no name has been running all over the cage, climbing here and there and trying to gnaw through the bars.  She also bit me when I held her, when Monkey just liked exploring and sat down in my palm to wash her face.

I'm considering naming black and white Dory if I can't think of anything better, simply because having mice named Monkey and Dory would amuse me.  I also considered Punky, but I'll see if she's a little friendlier tomorrow when she's settled in or if she actually does deserve a name like that.  I'm glad that the two of them get along though.  They teamed up to try to chew out of the cardboard carrier on the car ride home, and now that they're in their new home they're curled up in their food bowl sleeping right next to each other.

I hope that they become a little more adventurous tomorrow too, as right now they seem perfectly content to hang out on the middle level of their tri-level abode.  I also hope they know where their water is, because I haven't seen them drink any yet.

In other news, I went to Tucson over spring break, and that was fun.  I'd quite like to move there for school in the fall, but my mother seems determined to break my spirit and lock me up in this stupid little house forever.  Now I'm off to sleep!  Goodnight.

Leaving On A Jet Plane

So my plane leaves at 8:45 (or was it 9:45...I should check that) Sunday morning.  4 fun-filled days in Tucson!  The one thing I hate about traveling though is packing.  It's so frustrating!  And I always end up forgetting something.  I started trying to pack tonight, because yesterday I got a nice new suitcase.  For some reason, I only have a ginormous suitcase and a really tiny one, so I got a nice medium-sized one.  I packed my pajamas...and that's about it.

Things I have done instead of packing:
continue my re-reading of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
talk on the phone to my grandma
eat dinner (chicken chop suey, yum!)
watch Wife Swap
read Harry Potter while watching Wife Swap
read Harry Potter while watching That's Entertainment, Part 2
eat dinner...again (burrito and rice...tasty)
read Harry Potter while eating Swedish chocolate (Marabou filled with soft toffee...mmm...)
read Harry Potter while watching Miss Grant Takes Richmond
finish Harry Potter!

And now I'm debating whether or not to start Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix before I go to sleep.  I haven't read any of these books since they came out, and it's kind of neat to go back and notice things again now that I know what happens.  Plus it fills the void until the movie comes out.  AND I'm dying to go to Azkatraz 2009!  Now I should probably sleep, have to finish packing tomorrow, pick up a couple of things from Target (need magazines for the plane ride and layover in Phoenix, and I need a charger for my iPod), pick up my contacts, and all that good stuff.  Hectic, hectic, hectic!  Goodnight.

These Boots Are Made For Walkin'

I finally got some Ugg boots.  God bless outlet stores!  Got some of the talls in chestnut for $130, regularly $200.  I wore them today and they are soooo comfy...I need to get some more skinny jeans though because I don't like how the flares I wore puffed out above the boots.  So my goal is to find a good pair of light/regular wash skinny jeans, because the only skinny jeans I have now are a pair of dark, a pair of regular with giant holes in the knees, and some different colored jeans (black, pink, orange, green, and purple, I believe).

In other news, I'm on spring break next week!  Actually we don't have school Friday either, so that's fun.  As for my plans...Friday I'm helping move my horse to a new stable, Saturday I'm going riding, Sunday I'm flying into Tucson, and then I'm going to be hanging out with one of my best friends who lives there until Wednesday, when I fly back.  Thursday I'm going to my drum lesson, Friday I'm going to an O.K. Go concert that was supposed to be on March 21st but the singer got sick and they postponed it, Saturday I'll hopefully get to relax and hang out with my friends, and Sunday I have rehearsal, so I'll be out of the house from 12:15 until at least 8:30...blah.  Then it's back to the grind...

But yeah.  I'm considering using my spare YouTube channel to do fashion/make-up related videos.  I know I mentioned doing make-up videos on there before but I never got around to it, and lately I've been loving watching people's fashion videos, so I'd really like to do that.  We'll see how that goes, toodles for now!

Seasons In The Sun

So I made my last post at about 1 A.M. on the 15th of March.  I got up at about 11, ready to head out to L.A. for rehearsal...except that never happened.  I was laying in bed chatting with my mom when my dog Prince came in and coughed.  I was used to hearing him cough, for quite a while now he'd been coughing due to a slow-growing tumor in his lung.  The vet had said he would probably outlive it, but I guess he was wrong.  After he coughed, Prince began breathing funny.  I decided it would be best to stay home and I spent the day with him.  He got a little warm turkey, I brushed him, I blew bubbles for him (he loooved to chase bubbles), I petted him, and I laid with him.  At around 4 PM, he died.  He was around 12 or 13 years old. I miss that darn little mutt, he was my baby.  I had him for about 9 and a half years and he was basically the first pet that was all mine.  We had a very special bond.  I'm glad that he went on his own, the thought of putting animals to sleep bothers me.  He got to go laying on his favorite little couch, with his little blanket on him, and me and both my parents there petting him and comforting him.

It's been a tough week, to say the least.  He was part of the family and I'll miss him very much.  I'm trying to decide the best place to put his ashes, I got them back yesterday.  I want to see if I can find a good picture of the two of us too, to set next to his little metal box.  I guess I'll have a whole little shrine, haha, because I have his collar and a lock of his fur too.

Wasn't he adorable?

Anyways...yeah.  I'm dealing pretty well I guess.  Starting next Sunday I have uber-long rehearsals, before they were just from 1:15 to 4:15 but now I'll be there until 7:15...so my Sundays are shot until the end of May, and then I just have to be there from 4:15 to 7:15.  Fun stuff.  Now I'm going to go feed my Quantum Leap addiction, see you all later.

Joy To The World

Amy is very happy.  "Why is Amy very happy?" you ask?  Because I don't have a second period anymore!  Yay!  Sophomore year I took American Sign Language at a junior college, and I finally brought in my transcripts, so I no longer needed beginning band...which it turns out I wasn't getting credits for anyway.  But now I get to sleep until 9 Monday through Thursday, and until 9:45 on Fridays!  This makes me very happy.

In other news...I've become addicted to a Wii game that I got for Christmas but only opened a few days ago.  It's called Order Up! and it involves using the Wiimote to prepare all kinds of food.  I love it.

Now I think I should try to go to sleep, so goodnight!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

So tonight is girls' night!  Yaaay!  My buds Maggie and Christina are coming over and we plan on playing Rock Band, doing karaoke, playing board games, and pigging out, plus whatever else we can come up with.

I had suuuuch a long day yesterday!  Got under 5 hours of sleep, up at 6, at school at 7, had to practice marching and load up on the bus to get to California Adventure, got in at about 10, went on rides, shopped, and ate until 3:15, got dressed up in the band uniform and rehearsed until 4:55, then did a 15 minute parade, got back into regular clothes, packed up the buses again, rode back to school, unpacked the buses again, came home, got into comfy clothes, had soup & watched half of The Ugly Dachshund, fell asleep on the couch, woke up and crawled into my room, and slept for about 11 hours.

The parade totally killed my back, haha.  It's been messed up for the past like 5 years and then I had to carry one of those ginormous flags which are very heavy and hard to hold balanced.  Plus it was windy, so that was fun.  At one point the flag wrapped completely around my head so I couldn't see where I was going.  I heard people watching the parade laughing at me and I had to blow the darn thing back out of my face.

Aaanyways, yeah.  I'm excited for my robobaby this week!  I get it on Monday and I am determined to get a girl.  I'm naming her Cassandra Simone Depp =]  Now I'm going to go finish getting ready for tonight, yay!  Bye for now.

Happy Birthday Fungus Face

So I turned 18 Saturday.  Yay!  I had a pretty fun birthday.  Since it's free to go to Disneyland on your birthday I went with my new pal Zack and spent the day there.  Then Sunday my grandma came over and she and my parents and I all had dinner and cake.  As far as gifts, I got a couple pretty awesome things.  Firstly, I got a 32GB iPod Touch!  I've wanted one for so long and it's even more awesome than I thought it would be.  I also got tickets to go see Tom Jones in concert (yay!), shorts, a t-shirt, a purse, and a Ty beanie baby, all of which was from my parents.  My aunt and uncle sent me a check for $18, my grandma took me shopping and I got one of the Hello Kitty eyeshadow palettes and a Hello Kitty lipgloss from MAC, and Zack gave me a really awesome Elmo wallet, some lottery tickets (I won $4 yay!), pins, and Civilization III.  I also got 3 free lipglosses from Sephora because it was my birthday, so that was exciting.

Other than that...nothing too thrilling has been going on.  School is going well, and next week I get a mechanical baby to care for for my sociology class!  I'm looking forward to that.  I'm also marching with the band in a parade at California Adventure, so that's exciting too.  That's about all I can think of for now, talk to you soon!

Birthday

Well, today isn't MY birthday (although that is fast approaching), but it is Alice Cooper's 61st birthday, so happy birthday Alice!  I wore one of my many Alice shirts today in honor of the occasion =]

Moving right along...today was my third day back at school.  I went to this high school (which I shall refer to simply as WHS for privacy purposes) for freshman and sophomore years, and then left October of my Junior year because frankly, if I hadn't, I would have lost my mind completely.  I transferred to independent study and was doing that whole bit just up until the end of last month.  I wanted to transfer back to WHS for the last semester of my senior year just to finish up the whole experience, graduate with my friends, and so I could finish where I had started.

So being back isn't that bad.  I think I'm getting back into the swing of things, although I did oversleep 15 minutes this morning but no biggie.  My schedule is actually reaaaaaally easy, because all I need to graduate is a semester of economics and 4 elective classes.  My schedule appears as follows:
1st Period - No class!
2nd Period - Beginning Band
3rd Period - Sociology
4th Period - Economics
5th Period - Teacher Assistant
6th Period - Foods
So that's pretty awesome.  The way my school's weird schedule works means that Mondays and Wednesdays I don't have to be at school until 10:15 AM, Tuesdays and Thursdays I have to be there at 8, and Fridays I have to be there at 9:45.

The classes themselves all seem pretty easy.  I took beginning band freshman year and I'm taking it again mainly because there weren't really any other electives and it's super easy.  I sit in the back with my giant xylophone, do whatever I want, and when I have to I play.  Good class to study/finish up homework in.  Sociology is pretty easy too, mainly just note taking and watching movies.  Plus in a couple of weeks we get to care for our own little mechanical baby for a week that will cry randomly all day long, so that sounds like fun haha.  Economics should be good because I had the teacher for A.P. psychology sophomore year and he's my favorite teacher.  Very laid back and full of funny stories.  Now originally I was going to T.A. for my honors bio. teacher, who I had freshman year, but she already had a T.A. for fifth period so instead I went with my honors English II teacher from sophomore year.  So far it seems like it should be an easy period, I'll probably make copies and correct stuff or something, I really don't know.  I do want to clean up the classroom though because it's a mess haha.  I found a bottle of fish food and I see no fish in that class whatsoever...so yeah.  And then foods is so much fun!  We just get to cook and eat, so that should be a nice way to finish off the day.

Well, I've blabbered enough about this so now I'm going to go heat up some food and do some homework.  Friday I have to turn in a bunch of econ. vocab. AND a chapter outline/vocab. terms for sociology so that's exciting.  And I have my drum lesson tomorrow night so I have to finish most of it today...ahhhh.  And I have to decide what I'm wearing tomorrow!  I love picking out my outfits haha.  Well...bye for now then!

Zelda's Lullaby

Today (well, technically yesterday) I spent the day at my grandma's house helping her and my mom to clean out the garage.  We've done this many times before, and we always make some progress but I also always wind up finding really cool stuff and taking it home with me.  Today was no exception!  For one thing, I found this little thingamabob that I used to have when I was a baby that projects images of Disney characters on the ceiling and plays relaxing songs.  I do have to see if I can fix it though because the projection is supposed to scroll through different pictures, but it isn't.  I also found a book that I asked for for Christmas but didn't get (Love, Lucy by Lucille Ball), a book about mysterious Hollywood deaths, and a book about the New Kids On The Block, which looks hilarious.  I found a really cool lamp that looks like a movie camera, a working rotary dial phone, 3 pairs of nice leather gloves (brown, black, and white), a couple of belts, a sweater, and a large blank canvas.  And a bag of grapefruit from my grandma's tree, haha.

THE MOST EXCITING FINDS, however, were...OLD VIDEO GAME SYSTEMS!  YAY!  So first I opened up a cabinet to find a lovely little NES staring at me...but no cords, controllers, or games.  I set that aside for later.  Then I found a Sega Genesis still in the box it came in complete with its cords and one controller.  No games there either, though.  I then stumbled across a Sega Genesis, also in the box with its cords but no controllers or games.  Finally I found a box housing an Intellivision and a Tandyvision (which plays the exact same game cartridges as the Intellivision), to which the cords and controllers are permanently attached, but again no games.  Finally at some point my mom found a box with the cords, controllers, and some games for the NES plus two more controllers and some games for the Genesis.  We still haven't found games for the other systems but I have to look more some other time.

I brought the NES and the Genesis home with me for now.  The Genesis works fine so I'm going to find a place for it and hook it up soon.  The NES works...sort of.  I was able to play a little Super Mario Bros. 2 on it but eventually it stopped working.  I'm getting the flashing screen/light so I hopefully just have to clean the contacts to get it working fine again.  The sad thing is that there used to be a ton more games for these systems but we thought we didn't have the systems anymore so we sold all the games.

So that's my exciting story for the day.  I was also very amused by the fact that I was wearing my Super Mario Bros. 3 shirt today.  But yeah...I'm going back to school Monday after being in independent study since October of 2007.  I'm looking forward to seeing people again, but definitely dreading getting up in the morning.  I know I'm going to have a free period though and I'm really hoping to get my first period free, because with the way the schedule works I'd be able to come into school Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10 AM and only have to be there at 8 AM Tuesdays and Thursdays.  So wish me luck on that!

Crank Yankers Uncensored Season 1

Okay, so now I've just decided what the hey, let's do TV show box sets too.  Today I'm watching some of my Crank Yankers Uncensored Season 1 box set.  Crank Yankers is TV show featuring puppets acting out actual crank calls made by celebrities to real people.  It's pretty damn funny and if you like prank calls, I highly recommend it!

Shock Treatment

So I'm finally getting around to watching Shock Treatment.  I've only watched a little bit of it so far but I decided to pause and do an entry before I forgot.  One interesting thing that I didn't realize before is that Jessica Harper, who plays Phoenix in Phantom Of The Paradise, plays Janet Majors in this movie.  I was watching thinking that she looked and sounded a lot like her and lo and behold, it is her!  Just a little random fact that amused me.  From the box:

The musical madness and mayhem continue in this sumptuous "sequel" to The Rocky Horror Picture Show - on DVD for the first time ever!  In the continuing adventure of Brad and Janet Majors (Cliff De Young and Jessica Harper), their suburban hometown, Denton, U.S.A., has been transformed into a giant TV studio, where the brainwashed citizens remain happily glued to an endless series of soap operas, variety acts and game shows.  But before you can say, "We'll be right back after this, the station's unscrupulous sponsor has locked Brad up in a mental hospital and recruited Janet to be the sexy star of her own hit show.  Stay tuned for a shocking lineup of maniacal characters, biting satire and all-out fun!
1981, Color, 92 Minutes, Rated PG

Crazy

I had a pretty fun and crazy night tonight.  I left my house at about 5, and it usually only takes like 40 minutes to get to LA.  IT TOOK ME TWO HOURS!  So that kind of blew, I missed the whole opening act of this show I was going to.  But the rest of the show was good.

AND THEN...

My friend and I were supposed to go out to eat with people.  We were going to pull out of the garage, meet them on the street, and follow them to the place because I had no idea where it was.  So we get out and there's no one outside.  We waited for about 5 minutes, called my mom to ask for directions, and then got gas, checked to see if anyone was there yet, and decided to try to find the place ourselves.  So we're driving through the valley, trying to follow the directions my mom gave me but we can't find a certain street.  We ask a guy at this gas station for directions but he can barely speak English and he gets us even more lost.  FINALLY my friend's mom calls my cell phone to tell us that the people thought they saw us behind them, got to the restaurant, found out it was full, and left.  So now we had to drive all the way back to where we started to eat somewhere that was a block away from the Knitting Factory (where the show was).  But that place was closing so we had to go down Sunset a bit and eat somewhere else.  It was a little stressful at the time but it was fun, and in the end I got to try Thai food for the first time!  It was really good.  Thank goodness for Facebook too, because that's how my friend's mom got my cell number, otherwise we would've driven around aimlessly forever.  It was funny though, because as we were heading back to Hollywood we passed the restaurant we'd been looking for.

Then driving down Hollywood Blvd. to the freeway to go home, I had my windows rolled down and two creepy guys in a car next to me asked me where I was going.  I simply rolled my eyes and rolled up my windows.

YAY.  I may do a post about Shock Treatment tomorrow, although I'm going to a YouTube gathering, and then to my grandma's, plus I have a lot of homework to do.  But we'll see!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Today I'm watching...The Rocky Horror Picture Show!  This is mainly because I plan on watching Shock Treatment (the sequel) tomorrow so I just felt it necessary.  But I do love this movie!  Tim Curry is so awesome.  From the box:

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is an "erotic nightmare beyond any measure."  Relive Richard O'Brien's sinfully twisted salute to horror, sci-fi, B-movies, and rock music - a "sensual daydream to treasure forever" - starring Tim Curry (in his classic gender-bending performance), Barry Bostwick, and Oscar winner Susan Sarandon.  Do the "Time Warp" and sing "Hot Patootie" with Meatloaf again...and again...and again.  Pull up a slab and let the madness begin!
1975, Color, Approx. 100 min, Rated R

Seriously, if you haven't seen this before, then what rock
have you been living under? Go watch it! Although,
watching the DVD is nothing like a midnight showing,
because those are awesome, so I recommend seeing if
there's one in your area!

Phantom Of The Paradise

So I've decided I want to start a little movie suggestion thing.  I'll title the blog post as the movie title, and then give a little info about it.  At first I was going to make comments while I watched the movie but I tried that and it was pretty lame, so for now I'll just talk about it and urge you to see it.

So today's movie is Phantom Of The Paradise.  From the box:

Phantom of the Paradise is a groundbreaking cult film favorite from acclaimed writer/director Brian De Palma.  Paul Williams wrote the acclaimed rock and roll score for this musical horror classic, and stars as an evil record tycoon haunted and taunted by a disfigured composer he once wronged.  Cheered by Los Angeles Times as a "delightful outrageous...visual triumph," this hilarious send-up of the glam rock era is pure entertainment from beginning to end!
1974, Color, Approx. 92 Minutes, Rated PG

I've only seen this movie twice before, but I fell in love with it the very first time I saw it.  It reminds me of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in a way, and I absolutely love that movie, so if you like that you'll probably like Phantom Of The Paradise.  This movie is kind of loosely based on Phantom Of The Opera, The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, The Picture Of Dorian Grey, and Faust.  It's a musical (duh) and it has lots of great songs, interesting characters, and it's just a cool movie.  Here is a poster:

And here's the trailer:

If you do decide to see this movie, let me know what you think!

What I Like About You

Here's a fun, random, super-awesome 5:38 AM blog post for everyone who stumbles across my sad excuse for a blog.  Right now my sleeping schedule is like completely bass-ackwards and I'm going to bed at like 9 AM and waking up at 5-7 PM.  I really need to fix that, because I'm leaving independent study to finish my final semester of high school with my friends.  Eww...mornings =/  But yeah.  I just watched some video on YouTube where this person was listing random facts about themselves and I thought it would be kind of fun to do that.  It might even help me learn about myself!  Here goes:

1. I am kinda OCD.  I have to have the stereo turned to a number ending in 0 or 5 (15, 20, 25, 30 etc.) and I have no idea why.  It just drives me nuts if it isn't.  I have some other OCD traits like if I touch something with one hand I usually have to touch it with the other as well.  I don't know if that makes sense but yeah haha.  Plus like...just other boring little things I do.

2. I like orange juice, but I'm really picky about it.  I can drink Minute Maid and stuff like that but I don't really like it.  I love Odwalla and Naked orange juice as well as fresh-squeezed.  And for some reason I've always loved Donald Duck brand orange juice, which I'm not sure if they make anymore.

3. On the topic of juices I'm addicted to guava juice and I have been since...as long as I can remember.  I also LOVE Jamba Juice's orange berry blitz.  And Odwalla's Citrus C C Monster (which I am drinking as we speak).  And lemonade made with lemons from the tree in my backyard is probably my favorite thing ever.

4. I've loved Alice Cooper since I was about 7 1/2.  I saw him singing "Welcome to my Nightmare" on a commercial for some Halloween event at Magic Mountain, asked my mom who he was, and the rest is history.  She had a few of his albums on vinyl and I sat in front of the record player and listened to them over and over all night long.  I soon realized that I recognized a couple of songs from hearing them on the radio before I realized who Alice Cooper was.  My obsession only grew from there.  When I was 9 I was Alice Cooper for Halloween and I was actually in a Halloween parade (the final Mark and Brian Halloween parade, and if you're from my area you'll know who they are...well even if you aren't, they were the DJs in the Princess Diaries movie) as the 9-year-old Alice Cooper!  When I was 11 I went to see my first Alice Cooper concert and my grandma scored me and my brother backstage passes, so I have a picture of me with Alice and an autographed program.  I see Alice every time in town and I've only missed him once (I cried).  I even went to see a taping of the Craig Ferguson show that Alice was on.  And I'm determined to meet him again one day so he can sign the picture of us =D  Oh, and for Christmas I FINALLY got this pretty rare autobiography of his from the 1970s, YAY!  Thank you mommy =]  (This probably could've been a post of its own, it was pretty long but oh well haha.)

5. Okay so I was writing about my lucky celebrity encounters here...and then I just started blabbing on about random stuff and people and things like that and it started getting really long and braggy sounding so I decided to nix it.  But maybe one day I'll post it.  Who knows.

This post is getting entirely too long.  My apologies, but like I said I'm bored!  Bye for now =]
